Hi everyone. The shortlisted entries for the UK Agile Awards 2011 has now been announced. You can see the full list here – Agile Awards 2011 Shortlist.
I’m pleased to see IPC Media, my current company, has been shortlisted for the Most Engaged Management Team award. I can certainly validate that. My management team in IPC Digital is extremely knowledgeable in agile methods, and it doesn’t stop there – agile awareness goes right up to the Board and even Board members speak fluently about things like sprints, points and velocity. In a media organisation of nearly 2000 people, that’s quite something and something I am proud to be a part of.
I’m also pleased to see that my new, soon-to-be, employer, ThoughtWorks has also been shortlisted for Agile Consultancy of the Year. Great stuff and I can’t wait to join ThoughtWorks in Australia and start helping companies in Australia to achieve some of the benefits we’ve managed to achieve from agile here at IPC.
But that’s not all, my former employer RBI (Reed Business Information) has also made the shortlist in the category for Best Use of Agile in the Private Sector. That feels pretty cool to me – past, present and future employers all made the cut!
There are plenty of worthy winners in there, I’m sure, and I’m sorry I’ll be missing the event this year as by then I will already be starting my new life in Australia! I enjoyed the event last year and it was a real treat to win Most Valuable Agile Player in the UK. It would have been nice to present the award to this year’s winner, but I’ll be in sunny Sydney, so no complaints there!
Good luck to everyone that’s been shortlisted. You’re in good company so you’ve already done well…
