The Challenge

The online food company had experience rapid growth over recent years. Unfortunately, some organisational decisions were causing the product delivery function to diverge rather than come together. Although teams had a considerable amount of autonomy to decide what to work on, they weren’t clear on the wider business goals. This meant they were often found going off in different directions. Subsequently, there were a mixture of over 300 objectives and key results (OKRs) across the business.

“This situation, coupled with a general lack of visibility and accountability across the organisation, meant that the product was suffering. Luckily, the introduction of a new CTO presented the perfect opportunity to address it,” explained Kelly Waters, Founder, 101 Ways.

The Solution

101 Ways provided four experienced executives and director level consultants to work alongside the online food delivery company’s various heads of technology and product to implement agile ways of working throughout the business. In addition, 101 Ways helped identify the key business priorities for the organisation including:

  • Speed & reliability of service
  • Global rebrand
  • A platform that would work across multiple territories
  • Order transparency
  • Mobile first

101 Ways then helped the teams to align their OKRs in line with these business priorities, enabling everyone to move in the same direction.

“101 Ways helped restructure their product and technology for the better. Achieving increased economies of scale and enabling it to internationlise the product. This set the company on the path to global success,” added Waters.

101 Ways is committed to helping organisations solve problems and build great products.
