John Wright: New Director Announcement

We are excited to announce that John Wright has joined the 101 Ways team as a Director to support our team’s ongoing expansion and growth. With an engineering heritage and over 25 years of experience in digital transformation and product-based delivery, John’s strength in strategic consulting will play a major role in bringing 101 Ways’ unique private-sector delivery approach to the public sector.

While John is still an engineer at heart, he has built a strong reputation for being able to build relationships at all levels. Whether it’s talking about tech with his fellow engineers, or user experience with product managers, or business strategy with the Exec team, he approaches every conversation with interest and enthusiasm.

New call-to-action

Prior to joining 101 Ways, John had already spent 20 years at the forefront of agile and product-based delivery, picking up industry recognition along the way for:

  • His Agile Coaching skills at the Met Police, Target Systems, SIFA, and Open GI.
  • His Strategic Thinking as a UKIT award-winning Service Owner for a National Fraudulent Identity Document Service used across government services to prevent fraud, a joint venture with GDS, Home Office and the Met Police.

A skilful public speaker, John has shared his knowledge on the dangers of not embracing change at multiple conferences across the UK. He has addressed how taking small exploratory steps, learning from experience, and regularly reworking plans to meet a desired outcome can break down barriers and transform stagnant organisations into dynamic, responsive organisations.

As an advisor, John’s expertise on product-based ways of working has helped organisations like the Skills Funding Agency, DVSA, Morrisons, and the Food Standards Agency become more responsive to the needs of their users within ever-changing business or policy constraints.

John’s strong relationships across public sector organisations — including DWP, ONS, Home Office, and DEFRA — will enable 101 Ways to apply our own product-based delivery culture to the next generation of public services and help them build the departmental ethos they need to innovate and evolve for the future.

We welcome John to the team and can’t wait to see the 101 Ways he will support us in engaging with the public sector to deliver modernised, innovative public services!
